The Foundation of a Successful Material Handling Automation Project

As a turnkey secondary packing integration provider, we will take responsibility for the performance, price, and delivery of your end-of-line system. With our comprehensive planning, we reduce the risk for all parties involved, maximize project efficiency and provide comprehensive and firm pricing.

Defining Project Scope:

The initial stage of any system integration project is about getting to know you and your product and identifying the project’s true scope. Think of it as needs analysis. Going through the various steps of this process will allow us to identify and mitigate obstacles early on. We will visit the facility where the production line will be installed, see what is in place, and review how the product is being produced and handled today. What are the challenges you are experiencing with this product? What environmental issues do we need to consider?

The objective is to come away with a clear understanding of the work’s scope and what success will look like. From there, we are in a good position to go into concept development.

Concept Development

Now we will begin to select the various pieces of equipment required and work on the beginnings of a line layout. This part of the process is about proper space utilization and material flow. We also start looking at concept validation by evaluating critical choke points and performing cycle analysis to ensure that we can achieve the speed your packaging system requires.

Animation and Simulation

Then we put together an initial functional animation that will show the process. It is not an emulation yet, but it is a good representation of what the packaging line will accomplish, which helps as we communicate with each other and iron out many details. From there, we usually proceed to a simulation that allows us to run the line with true data from which we can generate a throughput number. This will be a number that we can then guarantee.

Going through the individual steps of the master planning stage ensures that we can confidently guarantee performance and provide a detailed, comprehensive, and most importantly fixed price quote.
